The United States military (US) launched a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) in an operational test on Wednesday (1/5/2019) morning local time. This unarmed missile launch or warhead was carried out from the Vendenberg Air Force Base (VAFB), California. According to the Vandenberg Air Force Base, the missile took off at 02.42 in the morning as part of an operational test. Colonel Kris Barcomb, commander of the 30th Operation Group, is the authority holder of the launch decision. "The partnership between the 30th Space Wing and the mission of our Air Force Global Attack Command has culminated in the safe launch of the Minuteman III operational test," Barcomb said.
