Andrew Mark Krippner, better known as Andy, was born to Kenneth and Pam Krippner in Chickasha, Oklahoma on 4-22-1991. He was taken home to be with his Creator and Heavenly Father on 5-23-2011. Andy and four others were struck with an IED, in the Kunar Provence of Afghanistan. Andy had been in Afghanistan for 6 weeks and recently celebrated his 20th birthday. Andy lived in Apache, Oklahoma, Fairmont, Oklahoma, Dexter, Missouri and Garland, Texas for the last 13 years. Andy attended and graduated from the June Shelton School, enlisting in the Army during the summer before his senior year. Andy will be remembered for his faith in Jesus Christ, his great sense of humor, his leadership and approachability. -Among PFC Krippner's distinctions included promotion to Private First--Class, a Bronze Star and Purple for Heart all were awarded posthumously. The other soldiers killed in the attack were deeply beloved friends, Staff Sgt. Kristofferson B. Lorenzo, 33, of Chula Vista, Calif.; Pfc. William S. Blevins, 21, of Sardinia, Ohio; and Pvt. Thomas C. Allers of Plainwell, Mich. Another soldier was critically injured and is in stable condition. The five soldiers were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. -All four soldiers were received at Dover AFB with honors. - PFC Krippner's remains were received May 31, with honors at JNAB Ft. Worth, with police motorcycle escorts and members of the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders. - He laid in repose at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. - Public viewing was held at Concordia Lutheran Church, in Garland, TX, where his father Ken Krippner, is the senior pastor. - Funeral Services were conducted at the Messiah Lutheran Church, in Plano, TX, with approximately 750 attendees. - Interment Ceremony was conducted at the Dallas-Ft.
