The terrible chain of events comes as Simon arrives back with Ken from his trip to Cornwall, ready for his sentencing. However, the idea of keeping him away from Tyler falls apart when Simon receives a threatening text from the young thug. As Simon returns from court with a referral order, he remains terrified of the prospect of giving evidence against Tyler, who attacked Flora McArdle during a burglary. Later, two masked teens grab Simon in the street and force him into a waiting car. Luckily, Kate sees what is happening and throws herself into the situation, pulling Simon to safety. Peter is astonished to then see the threats that his son has been receiving and vows to protect him. Taking him to Underworld the next day, Peter guards him but has to go out – but Carla promises not to let him out of her sight. However, she is soon distracted when she sees Sinead altering Cathy’s coat on her work machine but as she tells her off, Sinead has a funny turn. Rushing to get Daniel Osbourne, Carla leaves the factory unattended and Tyler and his mates are soon banging on the doors and issuing threats to Simon. Peter and Carla soon arrive back but don’t notice Tyler in a nearby car which drives up. He points a gun out and shoots Peter in the chest, causing him to fall to the ground as Carla screams in horror. Is this the end for him? One to watch: Friday 31st August at 7:30pm on ITV.
