Kate Connor is heartbroken as she issues Rana Nazir with an ultimatum leading to a painful farewell while it looks like Henry Newton’s time is up as Gemma Winter makes a big decision. Elsewhere, another person that could be making a sudden departure is Peter Barlow as he is shot in public by vicious Tyler – but if he does pull through, something good may come of the attack as Carla Connor sees the protective dad in a new (or should we say old?) light. Johnny and Jenny are panicked by Henry’s plan to sue them as they aren’t fully insured while Gemma confronts him after learning from Rita that he nearly stole from her. She is left with a decision to make when he comes clean but will she stand by him? Adam picks up on Leanne and Imran’s flirting while he later suggests to Kate that she persuades Rana to join Saira on the cruise but Kate refuses. Peter tells Carla that he is quitting Street Cars and giving Underworld his full focus. Maria and Rita raise a toast to their partnership, leaving Audrey upset while Cathy urges Brian to apply for a vacancy at the primary school. Monday 27th August Part Two Simon arrives back and immediately starts getting threats from Tyler. Audrey’s jealousy gets under Rita’s skin and she lets rip at her both for not being happy for Maria and for choosing Lewis over Gail. Gemma makes a decision about Henry as the net closes in while Rana decides that she will go with Saira on the cruise. Liz realises that Johnny has fixed the rota so that they don’t share shifts while Chesney is amused to find that the kids believe Brian is Santa. Wednesday 29th August Part One Saira is delighted by the news that Rana is going on the cruise with her but when Saira asks Imran to split his inheritance with her as she has ‘seen sense’, she comes clean that she is still with Kate. Later, Kate tells her that she won’t wait for her if she goes on the cruise. Simon gets a referral order from court but lives in fear of Tyler while Carla hatches a plan to test Peter when she finds that one of the job applicants for the machinist role closely resembles Tina. Mary hands out invites for Jude and Angie’s vow renewal, unaware that their marriage hangs by a thread while Gemma tries to sort out Liz’s love life while Brian applies for the job at the school. Wednesday 29th August Part Two Two masked teens pull up beside Simon and try to bundle him into the car but Kate intervenes and gets him to safety. When Peter sees the threatening texts from Tyler, he vows to do everything to protect his son. Rana asks for Imran’s advice on what to do about the cruise while Jude discovers Mary’s plans for the vow renewal – after Angie rejects his idea for a romantic meal together. Carla watches closely as Peter interviews the machinist. Tyrone decides not to tell the kids the truth about Brian while Liz begs Gemma not to contact Mike. Friday 31st August Part One Peter is called away while guarding Simon at the factory and when Carla is distracted, Tyler and the gang bang on the entrance. As Peter and Carla arrive back, Tyler points a gun at a horrified Peter… Jude tries to avoid Angie knowing what she wants to say but she eventually ends their marriage. Daniel tries to persuade Kate that her ultimatum to Rana is unfair as the pair face a difficult goodbye. Angie walks in on Imran and Leanne kissing while Kevin prepares for Jack’s return from rehab.
