Sam is with Lydia when they head to get her test results at the surgery and it’s already a nerve wracking day. But as they emerge from their appointment, Lydia bumps into a woman called Pat who tries to greet her only for Lydia to react badly and usher Sam out of the building. Sam is wondering what she is hiding and later, Pat and Lydia cross paths again in the Woolpack. As the two women have a stand off, Sam wants answers and back at the house, Lydia starts to open up – but what does she have to say and can Sam support her as she comes clean about an incident from her past? Later, Sam is keen to prove his devotion to Lydia and he urges her to consider setting a date for their wedding. But is Lydia as ready as Sam thinks to go ahead with the marriage or is Sam in for some more heartbreak? Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday 23rd August at 7pm and 8pm on ITV.
