Ukraine's army said on 10 June that more than 40 Kremlin-backed pro-Russia insurgents were killed during anti-terror operations in and around Slovyansk and Kramatorsk. The news came as the second round of peace between Ukraine and Russia brokered by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe got underway in St. Petersburg. Newly-elected Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on 09 June called for creating a corridor for non-combatants in eastern Ukraine to travel to safer regions in Ukraine, or back to Russia.
