University of Wisconsin-Stout's video: Hall of Heroes Induction Ceremony

The Hall of Heroes, on the first floor of the Memorial Student Center, is a display that honors 45 UW-Stout students and two faculty members who gave their lives in military service to their country. At 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, a ceremony will be held in Huff's Lounge of the Memorial Student Center to induct two a recently discovered heroes. 2nd Lieutenant Reed W. Jones, attended the Stout Institute 1939-1941. After enlisting in the Army Jones lost his life in P-47D Thunderbolt training accident in July 1944. Staff Sergeant Andrew Bossert attended UW-Stout in 1999 before leaving to serve his country. In March 2005, Bossert died as a result of a car bomb at a checkpoint in Ramadi, Iraq. Those that cannot attend the ceremony in-person are invited to watch the livestream or archived video to honor and learn more about the lives and service of Bossert and Jones.
