The short comedy 'Le chapeau de Max' (Max's Hat) with the french star comedian Max Linder was released in 1913. Max Linder has also written and directed this film. The video is transferred from a shortened Pathé Baby copy from the 1920's. Max Linder's (Gabriel-Maximilien Leuvielle) film career began in 1905 when he got a contract with Pathé Frères. With his high hat and his wide smile he soon became an unmistakable figure for the audiance. He was the first comedian to become an international star. Max Linder had a major influence on other comedians actors, especially on the great Charlie Chaplin.
