Monster Monster is a psychological thriller that deals with many of the same themes as Death Note. Both anime are character-driven and suspenseful rather than action-focused. 2. Terror in Resonance Terror in Resonance has many of the same psychological and crime elements as Death Note. However, it lacks the supernatural factor of Death Note, focusing instead on realistic violence. 3. Legend of the Galactic Heroes Legend of the Galactic Heroes, being a sci-fi anime, is set in a different world than Death Note. However, the character conflicts and mind games present in the show are very similar to those in Death Note. 4. Code Geass Code Geass shares several plot elements with Death Note and the main characters are quite similar. Both anime are very intellectual and involve a lot of mind games. 5. Durarara!! Durarara!!, like Death Note, is a suspense-filled anime with a supernatural component. Both shows have similar main characters and a dark atmosphere. 6. One Outs One Outs is a sports anime that has a heavy psychological element to it. The characters and overall atmosphere are very similar to what you find in Death Note. 7. Psycho-Pass Psycho-Pass has the familiar dark ambience of Death Note. Both shows deal with the topic of crime, though Psycho-Pass has a larger action component than Death Note. 8. Future Diary Future Diary is a psychological thriller that shares several features with Death Note. Both involve mind games, the supernatural and objects that bestow power upon the main characters. 9. Fate/Zero Fate/Zero is an anime which contains character conflicts similar to those found in Death Note. Both anime are suspense-filled with supernatural elements and both leave you questioning what will happen next. 10. Kaiji Kaiji is a story focused on gambling, different from Death Note's crime-based storyline. However, both series share a very similar suspenseful, mind-game element. Also, the music in both anime was composed by the same person (Hideki Taniuchi).
