“A finales del siglo XIX, el ingeniero y empresario estadounidense Frederick Stark Pearson fundó el aserradero más grande del mundo en el noroeste de Chihuahua. Para transportar la madera, construyó en 1909 una estación de ferrocarriles junto a las vías del tren proveniente del pueblo de Madera. La comunidad que se formó alrededor fue nombrada Estación Pearson, hoy Mata Ortiz” explica mi guía con ese característico acento que distingue a los chihuahuenses, gente hospitalaria, cordial y muy trabajadora.
