Hike to the top of the world! Angels Landing will take you so high you can touch the sky and have an awesome eagle's view on the world down there. To make me feel better, the ranger told me only 9 people have died during this hike since 2004. Apparently the number went up to 10. Luckily I wasn't n.10....who wants to be number 10 in life? I don't even want to be n.2! Steep hike, it keeps going up and up and up. I did it almost running because the clock was ticking and I wanted to see more of Zion Park, but also the Coral Pink Sand Dunes before sunset. I did it in 2 hours (usual time is 4 hours, 5 for slower groups, 3 for people in good shape), but really froze in the part where you have to hold on the chains. Nobody passed me up to that part that takes you to the very top. I almost gave up, but didn't, despite my fear of heights and shaky knees. At one point, I thought I wouldn't have been able to put my phone back in my pocket. Coming down the mountain in the part with chains, my camera's strap was in my mouth because I was afraid to lose it. I was hoping a helicopter could save me, but I realized there was no way it could land there. I used my butt a lot to go back down, seated like on a slide. I must have looked funny. For sure I was scared, but conquered my fears and this memorable hike. You can do that too. Just be careful. Strike first, strike hard! Enjoy the views!
