Yoga twists can be practiced with a hold to strengthen the muscles being 'twisted'. Going further is not necessarily better. Hold the body together in this pose and use the breath to internally stretch. You use the core to create the pose. By holding for a few breaths per side, you will become aware of parts you did not know you were using!
