Join us as we leave Clark Canyon Reservoir, Montana and take the scenic drive along the Snake River in Idaho as we head to Wyoming's Big Sandy Recreations area for out next free camping spot. Clark Canyon Reservoir is open year round unless snowed in. Seven free campgrounds around the reservoir, with trash removal, manual water pumps and very clean vault toilets. 14 day limit. 20 miles south of Dillon MT.. Clark Canyon Reservoir Exit 44 I-15 Dillon, Montana GPS: 44.978401, -112.920227 Elevation: 5640' Sign on highway says Big Sandy Recreation Area. Wide open space on Bothell sides of the Reservoir. East side straight pass sign is the cliff side west side is the boat launch area. Spent two weeks with amazing views of the Rockies a d wildlife Bald Eag6, Red Tail Hawks, Prairie Dogs, Chipmunks and Wild Horses. Clean vault toilets a d picnic tables. Does get Gusty wind every afternoon but over all loved it.
