Camp year-round Dinner Island WMA at one of the two designated camping areas. Kowechobe Camp is an open field with easy access for trailers. Hammock Camp is located under an oak hammock with plenty of shade and a vault toilet. You will need to bring your own water. Permits may be obtained up to 14 days in advance. Individuals may apply for a maximum of 14 consecutive days within a given month. Dinner Island WMA 17665 County Road 833 Clewiston, Florida GPS: 26.499657, -81.130686 Elevation: 36' Hammock Camp - Primitive camp area with 17 campsites, of which 7 are tent-only campsites and 10 allow for tents and/or campers or small RVs. No generators may be operated in camp sites 1-6. Check in is at 2:00pm, Check out is at 12:00pm. Kowechobe Camp - 20 sites that are suitable for tents, campers or RVs depending on time of year due to inundated site conditions effecting campsite access. Each camp site is 40' X 50' with a 40' space between each. This campground may be flooded during the summer months and may require 4X4 capabilities. All campers must obtain a free permit/site reservation using the online reservation system or by calling the South Regional Office at (561) 625-5122, during regular business hours only (Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. ET). The permit must be displayed at the campsite at all time by placing a copy of the permit in the brochure box at the Hammock Campground.
