Nonviolence has toppled dictators, has freed countries from occupation and has been the main tool of the environmental movement. What is it in the nonviolent struggle that manages to create radical positive change in societies around the world? How can we best wield its power for animal liberation? Martin Smedjeback has worked as a full-time peace and animal rights activist and educator the last eighteen years. From 2001 to 2008 he was employed in Sweden`s second largest peace organization as nonviolence coordinator. He is the chairperson of Save Movement Sweden. The last five years he has been working with his crowd-funded project A year for the animals. In his work he holds presentations, facilitates workshops, does open rescues of animals, spends some time in prison, campaigns for animal rights, takes photos and shoots videos. He holds a bachelor`s degree in psychology from the University of Lund in Sweden.
