The School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE), VIT offers programmes in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Applications and Domain-Specific Applications, imparting knowledge and skills required for the students to be competent and excel in the field of IT and allied disciplines. The School keeps its curricula updated with the recent technological advancements and best practices of the IT industry. The School also has collaborations, through MoUs, with 15 International Universities. Seminars, workshops, Value Added Programmes, Symposia and Conferences are organised on a periodic basis. The students are encouraged to work on challenging projects and given exposure to industry-oriented practices. The projects provide opportunities for the students to apply the acquired knowledge for solving real-world problems and gain research experience. This has also helped the students grab dream offers in major corporates during the campus recruitments. The School has state-of-the-art infrastructure for teaching-learning, research and consultancy. The School has strong linkages with leading IT companies and research organizations. The “Cisco Center of Engineering Excellence [CCoEE]” is a unique facility available at VIT and also first of its kind in the world. As part of this, students are selected to undergo training on advanced networking for 6 months in VIT and 6 months at Cisco, Bangalore. Apart from this, the School also has 2 other industry sponsored labs namely Cognizant Research and Development Centre for Mobility and VIT-Virtusa Centre of Excellence. The school has other laboratories equipped with IBM rack-mounted servers X3650, IBM XEON-E server and Wipro Net Power server. The laboratories use NETOP, a centrally managed teaching tool for assisting students during the laboratory sessions. SITE offers following programmes: UG: • B. Tech.
