Veness Travel Media's video: A Teddy Bear Cactus Spectacular

@A Teddy Bear Cactus Spectacular!
Deep in the heart of Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California (on our way to Palm Springs), we discovered the Cholla Cactus Garden in one specific location. The 'Teddy Bear Cactus' covers almost 10 full acres in this one area, where it thrives at this particular elevation in the Pinto Basin. It is a truly spectacular display of this shrub-like cactus here in the Sonoran Desert and it makes for a stunning snapshot video when you stand in the middle and pan around at the (roughly) 175,000 cholla cactus that crowd in here. Individual plants can be found throughout the area, but nowhere else has this proliferation of these cuddly-looking plants. But beware! Their 'Teddy Bear' nickname is distinctly less than cuddly, as their spines are all tipped with tiny barbs that attach to skin, clothing and fur at the slightest touch and can be difficult - and painful - to remove!
