The tropics can have storms that deliver large amounts of rain and Hernan's rain accumulation was about 22 1/2 inches. The majority came during the day at a 2 inches per hour rate and caused flooding exceeding two previous hurricanes: Jova and Patricia. A few shots from our house in Melaque, Jalisco, Mexico during the storm then the aftermath of driftwood and debris that ended up on the beach the following day. Lagoona del Tule, a lagoon adjacent the town of Villa Obregon was purposely breached to drain into the ocean releasing Lirio, and other debris. The clean-up will take weeks.
