Very Nice Travel's video: Peles Castle Romania Pelisor Castle and Sinaia Monastery

@Peles Castle, Romania + Pelisor Castle and Sinaia Monastery
Peles Castle is one of the most beautiful castles in Europe and a must-see attraction you'll remember long after your visit to Romania. The castle is located in the picturesque town of Sinaia, the “heart” of mountain resort in the Prahova Valley, also known as the Pearl of the Carpathian Mountains. Peles Castle is surrounded by a beautiful landscape and gardens. Many beautiful statues are present on the seven Italian neo-Renaissance terrace gardens, mostly of Carrara marble executed by the Italian sculptor Rafaello Romanelli. The story of the castle begins with a visit made by the first King of Romania, Carol I of Hohenzollern in the town of Sinaia. The king remained enchanted by the beauty of this place, located near the Carpathian Mountains. In 1872 he bought the land and the construction began a year later. Peles castle was built between 1873 and 1914 after the projects of the architects Wilhelm von Doderer and Johannes Schultz in a Neo-Renaissance style. Several other buildings, annexed to Peles Castle, were built simultaneously: the Guards Chambers, the Economat Building, the Foisor Hunting lodge, the Royal Stables, and the Power Plant. The Guard’s chambers are now a hotel and a restaurant at Peles Castle. Peles Castle was the first European castle to have electricity. The castle stands out for some elements that are truly surprising for its time period, such as its own hydroelectric power plant, heating, a moving glass roof and even a lift. Its 160 rooms are adorned with the finest examples of European art, Murano crystal chandeliers and German stained-glass windows. The castle draws its name from neighboring Peles Creek, which passes right through the courtyard. The inner courtyard, with its medieval air, carries the tourists back in time. When you enter the courtyard, large frescoes cover the walls, representing hunting scenes and minstrels who seem so alive. Although the entire castle is beautiful, there are some rooms that are especially worth visiting: The Hall of Honor , The Great Armory Room, The Royal, The Florentine Room, The Columns or Mirror Hall , The Dining Room, The Moorish Hall, The Turkish Hall, The Theatre Hall, The French Passage, The music room. Many of the rooms of the castle are decorated so that they resemble the styles of various cultures from throughout the world. Right next to Peles Castle is Pelisor castle and was built between 1899 and 1903. It was designed by a Czech architect in the Art Nouveau style, and it has several chambers, a chapel, and a golden room. It has a beautiful facade made of stone and wood. Queen Marie was involved in designing the interior of the castle. Sinaia Monastery is the perfect stop before or after your visit to Peles Castle. With a history that goes back 300 years, marked by a special relationship with the royal family, this monastery is a must-see attraction. The monastery and the Old Church were built in 1695 by Prince Mihai Cantacuzino after his trip to the holy grounds of Nazareth and Jerusalem. If you have the chance to visit the two castles (Peles and Pelisor) and Sinaia Monastery, don't miss it because they can offer a good history and art lessons. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like what you see, subscribe and click the bell to enable notifications for more travel videos. https://www.youtube.com/verynicetravel I really appreciate your support! ❤️❤️❤️ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The content of this channel, including: videos and images must not be downloaded for the purpose of being re-uploaded to YouTube or another 3rd party website or apps.
