Ammoudia is a lovely village on the northwest coast of Greece in the region of Epirus. It is surrounded by hills and mountains. The village has several hotels and villas for renting and a large and wide sandy beach. To the left hand side of the beach is the delta of the river Acheron. So all together, this is one unique place, so small and quiet, that you have a feeling that time stopped. The river is calm and shallow so you can relax in the shade of trees along the river and observe a variety of aquatic life and take photos. Boat trips are available if you wish. In the small taverns that lined up at the port, Greek, regional and international delicacies, as well as specialties from the sea are served - daily fresh. Ammoudia beach is ideal for water sports such as ski, jet ski, sailing and diving. The temperature of the water has sudden changes from warm to cold, as Acheron River enters the sea in this golf. The beach is sometimes windy, while the sunsets are beautiful. Visitors can also find restaurants, pizzerias and cafeterias. On the left side of the beach there is plenty of natural shade, which is usually used by campers. There is parking right next to the beach and a campsite. The beach is long and wide enough that there is space for a relaxing stay for all visitors, for those who use the sunbeds as well as for those who have their own equipment. It is shallow for the first 100m and then gradually getting deeper. It is ideal for families, for older people or anyone else who likes spending effortless long hours in a water. Several cafes offer two sunbeds and a parasol for 5 euro with two coffees. Endowed by nature, the Ammoudia beach is particularly suitable for tourism, combining clean sea and beautiful sandy beach, with natural environment.
