@Southern Pacific LABRF (Los Angeles - Portland) Intermodal - La Mesa Model Railroad Club

Operated daily between Los Angeles and Portland, OR, the LABRF is carded to operate via Soledad Canyon, Tehachapi and the San Joaquin Valley. LABRF intermodal trains were a mish-mash of container and trailer traffic which made for interesting looking trains with well cars full of stacked containers spliced in between pig flats. Based on customer need the train ran in multiple sections. Today, the Union Pacific operates the same train given the symbol, ZLCBR which departs shortly after midnight from the Shops Yard (LATC). All locomotives are equipped with Soundtraxx Tsunami / Tsunami 2 decoders and Current Keepers.
