Vidyaloke's Inaugural Private Teaching by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama | Day 1 3rd February, 2017 15, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road | New Delhi, India The first day of the inaugural Private Teaching by His Holiness in New Delhi. In this Teaching, His Holiness imparts his knowledge to Vidyaloke Shishyas on humanity's plight in the 21st Century, while also discussing the confluence of Eastern and Western modes of thought. He also elaborates on Buddhism as a spiritual science. His Holiness spoke on the Nalanda masters, their texts, Indian heritage and their relation to the Buddha’s teachings and Madhyamika philosophy. His Holiness also graciously took questions from Shishyas during the Teaching. His Holiness the Dalai Lama, born on 6th July, 1935 in north-eastern Tibet, is one of the greatest teachers of our time. At the very young age of two, he was recognised as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama, Thubten Gyatso. His skill to effortlessly distill the essence of complex Buddhist teachings and juxtapose them with causes and conditions relevant to our times is sublime. His Holiness’ presence and the vastness of his mind make every interaction with him deeply impactful and memorable. He is our guiding light for Vidyaloke.
