Vinnie Tortorich's video: Making A Cedar Strip Kayak Part 5 by Vinnie Tortorich

Day 5 here at Turning Point Boatworks with Joey Schott. We got a lot of great work done today, it's starting to look like a boat. And one of the main reasons is, we're doing all this taper work in here when I say we, this is a heavy assist by Joey. I'm an amateur and he really had to get in here and help me with these wedges. You may also notice that this little white cedar line here is really starting to show up. That's a very thin piece of cedar that we cut. We're going to do another one of those white lines right here. So this purple tape actually shows where we're going to actually cut the boat down, we're gonna cut the seat it down along that and lay another white cedar strip over that. So remember, the more racing stripes you have, the faster the boat is gonna be. That's just, it's just science. Always follow the signs. I think I mentioned it was day five. Also from calculating right, we did about seven hours today. So we're at about 37 hours of two guys working on a boat and this is where we are.
