Vintage Fans & More's video: Regency Marquis Ceiling Fan

@Regency Marquis Ceiling Fan
Regency Marquis 52" ceiling fan in bronze, shown with 52CH cherry blades. This is one of a few ceiling fans that I found in the trash during modified Cleanup Week 2020. Due to the pandemic, Cleanup Week was delayed from May until mid-September and spanned two weeks rather than one, with a very difficult schedule to work with. I still covered a lot of ground and saved some good fans, but it was much more disjointed than usual and I probably missed some stuff because of it. This fan originally had matching bronze blades, but it had clearly been installed in a kitchen, and I couldn't clean them without parts of the faux finish rubbing off in uneven patches. So I had to just pitch them, and used a set of the NOS stuff I have on hand. It was also originally flush mounted, and while I don't have the cover for the bottom of the canopy or the down rod coupler cover, I still like it better on a down rod. I like these fans on a general level, but I really dislike them flush mounted. They look so squat and the housing appears so thin, not to mention it does choke down the airflow. Dug through my spare rods and found some sort of oil rubbed bronze one that's the same base tone, it just lacks the gold accents that the Regency finish has, which I think I could add and mimic with a little gold paint if I really wanted to. Personally I'm more into 90s Regency products which typically had a little more performance gusto behind them, but even well into the 2000s they do hold a lot of nostalgia for me. In particular I do like finding the weirder finishes like this. While bronze wouldn't normally be weird or unique, this finish was offered side by side with the more typically seen oil rubbed bronze, and is totally different. It's a deep base, almost black, made more unique with the gold veining. If it weren't for the finish I'd probably have just parted this one out given the blade and mounting situations, but now that the Regency name is gone I think it's worth keeping around given my childhood nostalgia.
