Vintage Fans & More's video: Craftmade Decorative Ceiling Fan 1 of 2

Craftmade Decorative 42" ceiling fan in polished brass. The first of two found together in the trash during Cleanup Week 2022. Coming off of last week's video featuring Craftmade's precursor to the Decorative, I thought it'd be fun to immediately show how this basic design had evolved in just a few years. This one did have a three light turtle fitter, however I just removed it to show one fan without for a different perspective. The second fan will still have its same light installed. I like fans with features that are shrunk down smaller than you'd typically see them, so I've always had a soft spot for the 42" Decorative. The small pretzel arms, housings, and overall proportions are basic in design, but a delight in the sense that they're all shrunk in scale and the whole thing is pretty cohesive. I feel like smaller fans, especially the more basic/budget models, don't always get that level of consideration implemented into the design. Performance is definitely right on middle ground basic, nothing stellar, but these offer a great range of speeds for a 42" fan which kind of makes up for the top end of the performance in my book. Obviously a powerful high speed and great range are the ideal, but if I had to choose, I'd rather have a slightly less powerful high speed and a great range than a bunch of speeds that are too fast. Overall both fans were SUPER dusty but cleaned up very well and are in great operational condition.
