This is my cover of Pet Benatar's song "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" (1980). I think the lyrics are pretty self-explanatory! This is a good Stratocaster song, so I played it on my new Fender Standard HSS Stratocaster through a Fender 22W Supersonic amp on the "Burn" (hi gain) channel with an overdrive type setting. The pickup is selected on split-coil bridge and middle pickup, except for the lead guitar part when I use the humbucker. I leave a Keeley Compressor (with all four dials at 12 o'clock) and a light chorus effect by a Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble (digital chorus). To record it I play along with the mp3 with the computer speakers and my amp huddled around a Samson CO1U microphone into Mac PhotoBooth (sorry about the reverse image).
