Violet Deliriums's video: Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Get Your Pants Off guitar cover

This is my cover of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's song "Get Your Pants Off" (not the album version, but this one /watch?v=i45CNVx7e8Y called "Get Your Pants On" for some reason). For those of you who don't get it: (1) this is not blues; (2) this is not blues-rock; (3) it is retro alternative rock satirizing the hyper-masculine act of old blues rockers of the late 60s and early 70s who thought that they were (1) playing blues; and (2) acting too much like rock stars; and (3) playing sexist music about partying too much, cars, and all the girls the have sex with. There is no bassist in the band, but Jon Spencer plays bass lines on his guitar and sings in a hyped voice (to match their hyped band name) that imitates a combination of Elvis and Mick Jagger in order to portray himself as one of these hedonistic asshole blues rockers. I don't know about you, but I find this band hilarious -- it is just everything you hated about blues rock and bad psychedelic blues all in one package. I played it on my unmodified deep-space black Fender Standard Stratocaster with the bridge humbucker & middle single coil selected and ran it into my Fender Supersonic 22W combo's "Burn" (high gain) channel set to make a blues overdrive type sound. I recorded it by playing a video of a live performance of this song on the radio with the computer speakers and my amp huddled around a Samson CO1U microphone into a Mac and filmed it with Photo Booth. Get your pants off! Get your pants off! Come on! Get your hair done! Get down! Get your ????? on rock and roll! Yea! Aw, come on shout. I'm talkin' 'bout that, uh, BLUES EXPLOSION! Blues Explosion.
