WHO'S YOUR FATTY? This is my cover of Morrissey's song "You're the One for Me, Fatty" (1992). I am dedicating it to my friend Cam, not because I think he is fat, but because he likes "the jangly songs." To me, this song is about accepting and loving people for who they are. I played it on my deep-space black Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS with the bridge humbucker selected through my Supersonic 22W amp's "Burn" (hi gain) channel set for a bit of overdrive (gain controls at 3 and 4, bass and mids cranked, treble at 6). To shape the sound I used a Keeley compressor (all four knobs at 12 o'clock), a Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble (to kinda emulate a twelve string), and a Line 6 DL4 delay (set for "Analog Echo"). Occasionally I turned on my new Dunlop Germanium Fuzz Face Mini (the red one) which has a bassier sound than the other two variants with the fuzz set at 3 o'clock) to make the less jangly sound. To record it, I played along with an mp3 with my amp and computer speakers huddled around a Samson CO1U microphone into my Mac's Photo Booth program. I am not left-handed, the image is reversed and I don't know how to fix it.
