This is my cover of the Police's song "De Do Do Do De Da Da Da" (1980) which discusses the nonsense in the everyday world we live in -- the messages of those in power who cannot be interfered with. They provide us the categories with which we can view the world, and as long as we use those categories as a lens, we cannot be free thinkers because we think within a range that preserves their power. I played it on a Standard Fender Stratocaster with an HSS pickup configuration that I just bought yesterday and I am still working the kinks out -- there is a problem with the nut, but I like the guitar other than that. I used a Keeley Compressor (cranked up like WHAPP, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWljJl4wY24 to learn how to make this sounds) and a Hartman Flanger and the "Vintage" (clean) channel on my Fender 22W Supersonic amp, and added delay occasionally with a Line 6 DL4 (set on "Analog w/Mod) for the ambient echo in the chorus and a Boss DD-7 for the slapback in the bridge. I recorded it by placing a Samson CO1U microphone near the amplifier and stereo speakers into my Mac with PhotoBooth. The image is reversed because I do not know how to flip movies around. Sorry!
