Violet Deliriums's video: The Police - Walking on the Moon guitar cover

@The Police - "Walking on the Moon" (guitar cover)
This is my cover of the Police's song "Walking on the Moon" (1979). I played it on my unmodified Fender Standard HSS Stratocaster through a Fender Supersonic 22W amp set on the "Vintage" (clean) channel. To get the WHAPP sound, I crank my Keeley 4-knob compresser and run it through a Hartman Flanger (this analog flanger is the secret to getting great Andy Summers sounds!!! See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWljJl4wY24 to learn how to make WHAPP). I also have two delays going. The first is an Electro-Harmonix Memory Boy analog delay which is always on. It is set to give one slapback in rhythm with the song for the choppy chords. The other is for the big spacey sound (like you are on the moon) and it is done using a Line 6 DL4 ("Analog w/Mod" patch) with a lot of repeats. To record it I play along with the mp3 with the computer speakers and my amp huddled around a Samson CO1U microphone into Mac PhotoBooth (sorry about the reverse image). Giant steps are what you take Walking on the moon I hope my legs don't break Walking on the moon We could walk forever Walking on the moon We could live together Walking on, walking on the moon Walking back from your house Walking on the moon Walking back from your house Walking on the moon Feet they hardly touch the ground Walking on the moon My feet don't hardly make no sound Walking on, walking on the moon Some may say I'm wishing my days away No way And if it's the price I pay Some say Tomorrow's another day You stay I may as well play Giant steps are what you take Walking on the moon I hope my legs don't break Walking on the moon We could walk forever Walking on the moon We could be together Walking on, walking on the moon Some may say I'm wishing my days away No way And if it's the price I pay Some say Tomorrow's another day You stay I may as well play Keep it up, keep it up
