Violet Deliriums's video: Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction guitar cover

@Megadeth - "Symphony of Destruction" (guitar cover)
This is my cover of Megadeth's song "Symphony of Destruction" (1992). ATTENTION GUITAR COPS: I did not post this to request guitar lessons; I posted it because I think the song says something worth saying, something more important than "look how I play the guitar." In my mind, that solo represents the activities of an overwhelming dark force -- the global corporation. It starts out slowly, as if all of their ideas are good for people. They sweetly ask for "deregulation" so that they can do whatever they want. Once they get the buy in, the momentum picks up and soon it is unstoppable, and human beings are crushed underneath the pollution and exploitation of the unrestrained global corporation. Meanwhile, the "red-blooded American patriots" cheerlead them, thinking only of the positive effects (the profit motive) and ignoring or rationalizing away any of the negative ones. In other words, they thoughtlessly "sway to the symphony of destruction." The solo crushes you just like the corporation. It also distracts guitar cops and fanboys from the message of the song, which they reduce to: "Look how great Marty Friedman plays the guitar." Clearly, the heavy sounds and fast tempo suggest anger, and that anger is directed against the power structure in the US (see the song's video for more clarification). You know, the one where the wealthy businessman acts as a neo-feudal overlord who dominates over everyone else, "just like the Pied Piper who led rats through the streets." Are you simply going along with it, trying to carve out your own little piece of the American Dream while others rot, "swaying to the symphony of destruction?" Or are you fighting for democracy? The answers to these questions are far more important than whether or not you think I played this well or not. I played it on my Fender Violet Deliriums ESM Signature Model Blacktop HH Jaguar which has Seymour Duncan SH-1 pickups, a killswitch, and some neat-o stickers on the pickguard. (ESM = Explosive Space Modulator.) I select the bridge humbucker and that goes through my Fender Supersonic 22W amp's "Burn" (hi-gain) channel (gain knobs on 8 and 10). To record it, I played along with the mp3 with my computer speakers and amp huddled around a Samson CO1U microphone into my Mac's Photo Booth program, which reverses the image and I don't know how to fix it. You take a mortal man, And put him in control Watch him become a god, Watch peoples heads a'roll A'roll... Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionettes, Swaying to the Symphony... Of Destruction Acting like a robot, It's metal brain corrodes. You try to take it's pulse, Before the head explodes. Explodes... Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionettes, Swaying to the Symphony... Of Destruction The earth starts to rumble World powers fall A'warring for the heavens, A peaceful man stands tall Tall... Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionettes, Swaying to the Symphony... Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionettes, Swaying to the Symphony... Swaying to the Symphony... Of Destruction
