Ron began training in the mid-’70s in Los Angeles, Nashville, Miami, New York, London, and Moscow. All 5 continents have benefitted from Ron’s teachings. Paula Abdul is an American dancer, choreographer, singer, & actress. She began her career as a cheerleader and later became the head choreographer for the Laker Girls, where she was discovered by The Jacksons. After choreographing music videos for Janet Jackson, Abdul became a choreographer at the height of the music video era. Her debut studio album Forever Your Girl became one of the most successful debut albums at the time, selling 7 million copies in the United States and setting a record for the most number-one singles from a debut album on the Billboard Hot 100 chart: "Straight Up", "Forever Your Girl", "Cold Hearted", and "Opposites Attract". Her six number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 tied her with Diana Ross for seventh among the female solo performers. Abdul was one of the original judges on American Idol and has since appeared as a judge on The X Factor, Live to Dance, and So You Think You Can Dance. She received choreography credits in numerous films, including Can't Buy Me Love, The Running Man, Big, Coming to America, Action Jackson, The Doors, Jerry Maguire, and American Beauty. She has received five MTV Video Music Award nominations, winning twice, as well as receiving the Grammy Award for Best Music Video for "Opposites Attract" in 1991. She received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography twice for her work on The Tracey Ullman Show, and her own performance at the American Music Awards in 1990. Abdul was honored with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is the first entertainer to be honored with the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards' Hall of Fame Award. Randy jackson Judge American Idol Starting in 2002, Jackson was one of the panel judges on the Fox Network reality television series American Idol, along with Paula Abdul (2002–2009), Simon Cowell (2002–2010), Kara DioGuardi (2009–2010), Ellen DeGeneres (2010), Jennifer Lopez (2011–2012), Steven Tyler (2011–2012), Nicki Minaj (2013), Mariah Carey (2013) and Keith Urban (2013). As a result of Cowell's departure, Jackson was left as the sole original judge on American Idol. His role was originally going to be reduced to that of a mentor to the 2013 season would have all new judges, but it was later decided that he would remain as a judge for season 12. On May 9, 2013, Jackson announced that he would be leaving American Idol after twelve seasons due to him wanting to focus on other business ventures. On September 3, 2013, it was announced that Jackson would replace Jimmy Iovine as the in-house mentor on American Idol. He departed the series for good in November 2014.
