VoorDeFilm's video: What is lacking from Dutch movies Hint: LET IT FLY

@What is lacking from Dutch movies (Hint: LET IT FLY!)
Very few films in Dutch cinema use a flying, floating or dancing camera. Mostly, Dutch filmmakers only take their camera off the tripod for some shaky documentary-style handheld framing. Let's analyse and challenge the cinema of the Netherlands! In this video essay film journalists KEES Driessen and Menno Kooistra cite Dutch fiction and documentary features from 1917 until the present day, making the case for a more lyrical and intuitive camera style. This video was made for the Forum of Directors of the Dutch Film Festival 2015 and recut in 2017. VoorDeFilm is a platform for film analysis, video essays and mashups. Thanks for watching!
