Mexican National Anthem Instrumental Himno Nacional Mexicano with Mexico Lyrics and English Translation. The "Mexican National Anthem" (Spanish: Himno Nacional Mexicano), also known as "Mexicans, at the call of war" (Spanish: Mexicanos, al grito de guerra), is the national anthem of Mexico. The lyrics were written by poet Francisco González Bocanegra in 1853 with the music composed in 1854 by Jaime Nunó. The original anthem had 10 stanzas and a chorus, although after 1943 the modern anthem consists of the chorus, 1st stanza, 5th stanza, 6th stanza and 10th stanza. At sporting events only the chorus, 1st stanza and the chorus again are played. For all stanzas refer to the following Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Himno_Nacional_Mexicano The image in the video is the Mexican Flag and is described in the following Wiki: “The flag of Mexico (Spanish: Bandera de México) is a vertical tricolor of green, white, and red with the national coat of arms charged in the center of the white stripe. While the meaning of the colors has changed over time, these three colors were adopted by Mexico following independence from Spain during the country's War of Independence, and subsequent First Mexican Empire... However, the coat of arms has had the same features throughout: an eagle, holding a serpent in its talon, is perched on top of a prickly pear cactus; the cactus is situated on a rock that rises above a lake. The coat of arms is derived from an Aztec legend that their gods told them to build a city where they spot an eagle on a nopal (prickly pear) eating a serpent, which is now Mexico City.” Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Mexico The image shows a ruffled Mexican Flag. ENGLISH LYRICS: Chorus: Mexicans, at the cry of war, make ready the steel and the bridle, and may the Earth tremble at its core at the resounding roar of the cannon. and may the Earth tremble at its core at the resounding roar of the cannon! First Stanza: Let gird, oh Fatherland!, your brow with olive by the divine archangel of peace, for in heaven your eternal destiny was written by the finger of God. But if some enemy outlander should dare to profane your ground with his sole, think, oh beloved Fatherland!, that heaven has given you a soldier in every son.
