The Kerala State Government honoured the ace playback singer and carnatic musician, KJ Yesudas with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Presenting the award, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said Yesudas was Kerala's great asset.The function was held at the State Legislature Assembly complex in Kerala and the award carried a purse of Rs.1.5 lakh, a statuette and citation. Thanking the Chief Minister bestowing him with the honour, the singer appealed to all political parties to work in tandem for the betterment of the state.
