PLEASE NOTE: Today was a RUFF day out there at sea, the winds and swells had been going off a little so I want to let you know the VIDEO is a little choppy, not just because the waves had been hitting the boat from all directions but because I was just TOO DAMN EXCITED! So Capt. Zeus and I set out to find the Humpback Whales off the Oahu coast. Although they are found around the entire island between the months of NOVEMBER though APRIL I personal have had great luck seeing them on a daily basis on either the East side of Oahu from Diamond head to Makapu'u or the West side in the Ko'Olina area. Below are several places I recommend for you when wanting to WHALE WATCH on Oahu: You can Whale watch from all over the island and Dolphin watch as well. If you do, make sure you do it with a local small sight seeing boat and crew. The smaller the boat the closer you guys can get so keep the length of the boat no bigger then 40-60 feet. The smaller the boat the smaller the crew as well as sight seers so just be prepared to spend between $90.00-$140.00 for a good crew and boat. If you go on a large mass tourist boat it will be a about half that but you will feel like a piece of meat or number and I feel it would be a waste of your time and money. These Large 100 feet and larger boats can't get as close under law and it's very disturbing to the whales. There are several small Whale sight seeing ventures I would recommend. (starting tours at $30.00 for a 2hr tour) in Hawaii Kai at Island Divers, website: Islanddiversactivities.com and the # (808) 423-8222 Don't forget if you get sea sick at all prepare ahead of time and take your Dramamine and bring some with you just incase.
