On Monday, a Dane County judge overturned portions of Wisconsin's Act 10 law, which helped balance the state budget by limiting collective bargaining rights. The ruling will likely be challenged by the state's legislature, as the law has been upheld by other courts on numerous occasions since its passage in 2011. "This decision is 100% political; it does not comport with the law," WMC's Scott Manley shared with Meg Ellefson in an interview on WSAU. The repeal of the law would mean increased taxes for Wisconsin households, Manley warned. "Act 10 is currently saving taxpayers about a billion dollars per year; that's hundreds of dollars per household," he said. Ellefson and Manley discussed the politicization of the court, bemoaning the deference to opinion rather than the rule of law.
