WWFMy's video: Journey of Water Langat 2019 Highlights

Did you know that the average water usage per person in Malaysia is over 200 litres/day, which is among the highest in the region? Klang Valley is currently home to about 7.2 million people or more than a fifth of Malaysia's total population, and water consumption is high among the urban population in Klang Valley. Langat River is one of the longest rivers in Selangor and an important source of potable water to people in the Klang Valley. From October 4-6 2019, WWF-Malaysia brought a group of Water Heroes comprising representatives from the corporate sector, water-related government agencies, academic experts and social media influencers on the Journey of Water in Langat river basin. These Water Heroes function as change agents to raise awareness of the larger public about the need for attention and action for better care of our river systems, water catchments and water resources. The Water Heroes capitalized on the social media platform to share and spread pertinent messaging on river and water conservation issues to the public throughout their 3-day journey to inspire the public to take the necessary action.
