WYCEradio's video: The Jammie Awards XXIII

WYCE 88.1 FM is proud to present West Michigan’s premier music awards show, the Jammie Awards, for the 23rd year. WYCE has also partnered with Michigan Music Alliance to present the second annual Ovation Awards, a music community changemaker recognition. Founded in 1999, the Jammie Awards is a music event celebrating the talented array of musicians here in Michigan. The event is intended to highlight our diverse, high quality music community, strengthening the relationship between artists and listeners in West Michigan. West Michigan’s largest collaborative musical event will take place on Friday, February 24th at The Intersection in Grand Rapids. Performances from over 20 local artists are the highlight of the evening, many being first-time Jammie performers including Myron Elkins, Elijah Russ, Cal In Red, Nathan Walton and the Remedy, Cole Hanson, La Furia Del Ritmo, and supergroup Moss Manor. In addition to the Jammie Music Awards, WYCE is excited to partner with Michigan Music Alliance to present the second annual Ovation Awards. In the spirit of “collaboration over competition” the Ovations are awards that focus on what matters most: the community the music scene has built and the individuals who contribute to creating that community. Entry to the all-ages event is a suggested donation of $5, which supports the independent radio station’s mission of “building community through media”. WYCE has also partnered with Feeding America West Michigan to raise support for relieving hunger and increasing food security in West Michigan. Canned donations will be accepted at the door. In 2019, over 200 pounds of food were collected at the Jammie Awards. Several area nonprofits will also be on site to connect with the community and spread awareness for their causes.
