Up until eight weeks old, puppies should be fed small amounts of food four times per day. As they grow, you can gradually decrease the frequency of feeding. At eight to twelve weeks old, puppies can be fed three times per day, and from twelve to sixteen weeks old, you can reduce that to two times per day. Once your puppy reaches six months to a year old, they're considered an adult and can be fed twice per day with high-quality dog food. For dogs over one year old, you can feed them once or twice per day, depending on their individual needs and activity level.
