The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele announces plans for Bitcoin City. The city will have almost no taxes, and be financed entirely with a 10% sales tax, and the issuance of Bitcoin bonds that El Salvador will use to accumulate Bitcoin and build out the Bitcoin mining infrastructure. The entire city will be based on bitcoin, located along the Gulf of Fonseca near a volcano, which will provide geothermal electricity for the entire city.
