Warsha Easwar's video: Regina Spektor - Samson Cover

Me singing "Samson" by Regina Spektor. Thought I'd try some live recording again..if you guys like it, I might continue it! :D So leave comments! Regina is one of my favorite discoveries in the world of music..her style is unique and her lyrics are so randomly poetic..they make perfect sense. Samson bears a strong resemblance to the story of Sampson and Delilah in the Bible. My guess is, this is Regina's take on the story and her way of rewriting it to turn the tragedy into a love ballad. Here, Delilah is shown to truly love Samson, and even though she cut his hair, his source of strength, wonderbread makes him all better and they live a happy life together, one that never makes history because nothing dramatic ever happened from cutting his hair. And so the temple was never destroyed either, and they lived happily ever after. If only it was that easy to change history. This song was requested by and is, therefore, also a dedication to my amazing friend Lali.
