Warsha Easwar's video: Leonard Cohen Rufus Wainwright - Hallelujah Acoustic cover

Me singing "hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen. Also popularly sung by Jeff Buckley/Rufus Wainwright. This rendition is a bit of a crossover of all versions culminating into something of my own I guess. My first attempt to cover this song. Somehow no matter how "beautifully" you sing it, it doesn't do justice to the original. I always feel like I'm missing some emotional element. Which made me put off covering this song for the longest time. But well, you gotta try right? So I really got down to it and belted out a few verses. I went for a sort of mulling, post-breakdown, lullaby-like style where you're kinda just trying to sing yourself into a melancholic sleep. I don't think i quite got there but its a start. Comments?
