WeAre TheLiving's video: Bhor Ghat Khandala Ghat on the Mumbai - Pune rail route in monsoon

@Bhor Ghat (Khandala Ghat) on the Mumbai - Pune rail route in monsoon
Connecting the coastal plains to the Deccan plateau through the Sahyadri mountains, the Bhor Ghat is an important and a mesmerisingly beautiful section of track between Mumbai and Pune. It is one of the busiest routes in the Indian Railways. The route climbs from an altitude of 636 feet at Karjat to 2800 feet at Lonavla within a distance of 28 kilometres. Due to the steep ascent, all trains are attached with banker engines to help haul them to the top. This procedure has been followed since 1925 when the Ghat route was opened after railway electrification. Along with being a technical marvel, the route is gorgeous, especially in the monsoon. Covered in lush greenery, dotted with waterfalls and shrouded in clouds, the route is a wonder to watch for the commuters on this route.
