Covering around 192 acres of land, the Mawphlang Sacred Forest, settled in the East Khasi Hills close in Mawphlang village, has its underlying foundations soaked somewhere down in the deep rooted religious convictions, in which the forest is viewed as a sacred element to the locals. The neighborhood Khasi clans have been saving this timberland for a large number of years, and trust it to be the house the nearby divinity, called Labasa. The inborn individuals have a firm conviction that Labasa shields this timberland and their locale from any setback. The divinity assumes the type of panther or tiger, and ensures the town. To keep up favors or conciliate the nearby divinity, the locals make creature forfeits in the stone sanctuaries situated inside the backwoods. featuring Romit Singla from 10journeys, we couldnt contain our excitement as we travelled to the sacred forest to learn more about the secrets yet unfolded.
