At IMSA, It won the manufacturer, driver and team titles in 2019 with its naturally aspirated 4.0 litre flat six. Having an engine behind the rear axle meant Porsche was not able run a big diffuser at the rear like the competitors and the 911 RSR was suffering a relative lack of downforce as a result.
