That kind of commitment towards one’s art is rare in the current era when everything is focused and designed towards fast outputs. The spectrum of poetry is as diverse as the four seasons in a year. If there are poems about unrequited love, then there are also ones about overcoming pain & grief, if there are meta-poems on the actual craft of creating a poem, then there are also odes to legends like Ernest Hemingway, Sylvia Plath and William Shakespeare amongst others. The book has an old world charm about it, not just in its content and form but also in the way it has been printed. Yet what’s remarkable is that not only is the book not dated, but in fact the short verses (rewritten to perfection, multiple times) are apt for current social media savvy generation with small attention spans. The entire book can be finished in less than an hour, however, it is best to savour it slowly like a glass of fine scotch or like well cooked mutton which has matured for ages over a slow flame, rather than gulping it down like a tequila shot.
