However, I do spend a lot of time doing photography and I’ve spent a lot of time out there taking time-lapses of Northern lights. So I thought I would share with you my experiences. We will go through three examples of timelapses I have shot this week. They occur near the Arctic and Antarctic circles, so first head to the Arctic or Antarctica! Always use manual focus! I use an Iso of 2000 Shutter speed between 3 to 8 seconds Get used to your camera, you can practise on stars first! Once the Northern lights start you want to have it all ready to go...
