William FlySpoke's video: FlySpoke Tying A Magog Smelt Salmon Trout Bucktail Fly

@FlySpoke Tying A Magog Smelt Salmon & Trout Bucktail Fly
The Magog Smelt is one of the most universal buck tail patterns ever created. Good for all salmonoids as well as striped bass. The original fly was used on Lake Memphremagog in Northern Vermont with 74% of it's surface stretching far into the Provence of Quebec. The salmon were very large back in the 1920's and big lake streamers worked well. Sports from all over the world would travel to sample the bounty. Today the salmon of Magog are but a fraction of themselves in size as well as quantity. The salmon have diminished but the Magog Smelt lives as a testament to a perfect fly.
