Wim Karmelk's video: East of the Sun - combo a Brooklyn Affair - vocals by Wim

@East of the Sun - combo a Brooklyn Affair - vocals by Wim
"East of the Sun (and West of the Moon)" a performance in the early days of my combo "a Brooklyn Affair", with the collaboration of Frans Gigengack - saxophone, Jaap Naber - stage piano, Wim van Logchem - bass guitar, Henk van Zwieten - drums and Wim Karmelk's vocals. “East of The Sun" was written by Brooks Bowman, a member of Princeton University's Class of 1936, for the 1934 production of the Princeton Triangle Club's production of Stags at Bay. The song was first recorded by Hal Kemp for Brunswick Records on Dec.1, 1934. Frank Sinatra recorded it in 1940 with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra for the Album “Head On My Pillow” (RCA Victor) and it has remained a popular jazz standard since the 1950s.
